About Dick's Folly.
The boat was taken
out of service in the Autumn of 2009 for a complete interior
refit. Some of the
preparation work was done by members of the Project
[see pictures on this page], but the
refit and mechanical work were carried out by professionals.
See this page for pictures
of Dick's Folly being lifted out of the water for its
transportation to Starline Marine in Worcestershire, and
page for pictures of the early work inside the boat.
We received the boat from Starline Marine in June 2011 and it
is now in full service. Bookings can be made by posting the
booking form downloaded from
firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phoning Janet White
on 01923 224411. The availability of both our boats can be
checked from this page.

Dick's Folly is equipped to a high standard:
* Hot and cold running water
* Showers in two wetrooms
* Domestic cooker with oven, grill and four burners
* 2 flush toilets
* 12 volt lighting
* 240 volt power sockets
While accommodation is comfortable and adequate, space is limited.
Dick's Folly has 12 berths in six pairs of bunks, and there are lockers
provided for personal belongings. The saloon has sufficient seating,
some of which can be folded against the side of the boat and one of the two
tables in the saloon can be removed to make more space.
Location and cruising.
See the map for the Project location.
Our base offers secure, off street parking for several vehicles for
those using the boat. The site has water, electricity, a barbeque and
rubbish disposal / recycling. Nearby are several pubs, a pizzeria, an
Indian restaurant, a garage and a shop.
The location provides an ideal mooring for the boat on the River Gade
at its junction with the Grand Union Canal at Hunton Bridge.
