Dick's Folly needs your lolly.
Dick's Folly is the community narrowbnoat based at Hunton Bridge
and run by the South West Herts Narrowboat Project [SWHNP]. In
the autumn of 2009 it had to be taken out of service following a
number of major problems. Here's the latest update of the
fundraising activities by the crew and 'users' of the boat.
ALWAC Concert
Sunday the 6th March found the Dicks Folly Crew steering the
audience through the interval of tea and cakes, at the third and
last in the season of ALWAC Concerts. Congratulations and thanks
to Tim & Lesley Brookes who devised, created and used their
musical knowledge to bring these events to our locality.
Each concert has had it own unique marque, this one being
the amazing blend of the instruments played by virtuoso
musicians and folk duo Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer. The audience
were both intrigued and fascinated by the sounds emanating from
the Swedish nyckelharpa played by Viki, blended together with
the open tuned guitar playing of Jonny.
Dicks Folly Quiz
Following the success of the Quiz Night plans are already
firmed up for a chance to relieve `The Invincibles` who were the
first Clever Dicks of, their `Teddy`. Put Friday June 3rd 2011
in your diary and contact John Blake to secure a table for your
Team.

Kontinues to attract Kreative Kontributions in all shapes sizes
but always in DF Colours.
You will be familiar with the country's response to the world
war two phrase 'Dig for Victory'. Well here are the folks down
at Delrow College Needlecraft Workshops answering Angi's request
for help with fundraising for Dicks Folly.

Thanks to Valerie, Penny and Brenda whose scarves have been
adorning our DF teddies necks.
Once again we salute the community for its continuing
encouragement and support
With All Good Wishes,
