Dick's Folly is 70 feet long and accommodates a maximum of 12 people. She was launched in 1989 and refitted in 2010 with a bright and cheerful interior. She has a semi-traditional stern with seating for a few, near to the helmsman. It should be noted that this boat was not designed for wheelchair use.

Pickle's Folly is 10 feet shorter than Dick's Folly at 60 feet and can accommodate up to 10 people. She was built in 2012 to accommodate a wheelchair user. A hydraulic lift takes people with mobility difficulties between the larger 'cruiser' rear deck and the cabin.

Safety

We take safety on the boats very seriously. Our Pre-trip Safety Briefing outlines dangers and safety issues leaders and user groups need to be aware of when using our boats.

This briefing outline is provided as guidance. It is the responsibility of each group leader to make their own safety assessment (having regard to the ages, abilities and circumstances of their group) and brief the group accordingly.

Your Route

An excellent journey planning tool can be found at CanalplanAC. This is a web-based program designed to help you plan a journey on the Grand Union Canal and elsewhere on Britain's inland waterways. There is also a canal guide on board both boats.

Onboard Activities

There is more to do onboard than cooking and washing up! Take a look at the page linked from the button below before your trip - good ideas to keep your group occupied while on board, or around the boats.
